NashvilleStandUp.com and Zanies Comedy Showplace are pleased to announce The NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase.Starting October 19, 2010, nationally touring, Nashville-based comedian Chad Riden brings together his favorite comics from around the country and the funniest comics in the Nashville area for a new semi-regular Tuesday night showcase show at Zanies Comedy Showplace.

The NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase @ Zanies is a showcase of the funniest professional comedians based in the Nashville area, plus guest sets from traveling comics, and a few up-and-coming young comics from the local Nashville scene.

In addition to the comics’ planned stand-up sets, the show will also feature Chad Riden’s IRON COMIC comedy competition with jokes written on the spot based on audience suggestions. Originating on the Nashville radio airwaves and ComedyPodcast.com in September of 2005, IRON COMIC has been performed live at various venues for years.. but finally comes to Zanies as part of the NashvilleStandUp.com Showcase. In addition to the professional comics, anyone can participate in IRON COMIC by submitting jokes using Twitter and Facebook. Riden will highlight the funniest on stage and online during the show.

NashvilleStandUp.com’s Chad Riden says, “About ten years ago, I got my start at Zanies when a local headliner set up a weekly Tuesday show at Zanies. She brought in all the funny young comics who wanted to get in with the club and got them exposure and experience at a club which has been notoriously hard to get into. Now, it’s my turn to give back and do the same thing for the guys out there who are smart and funny and doing something special every time they get on stage. I’ve ran NashvilleStandUp.com for almost a decade now..  trying to highlight the funniest comics in the local scene.. and right now there are a lot of shows going on every week, but they vary in quality. I wanted a regular show at a professional comedy club that featured a world class showcase style lineup of the BEST of the local scene and at the same time provide an opportunity for the professional comics I know around the country who have a night off and want to get ‘in’ with Zanies. This is that show.”
