PRESS RELEASE A SOLDIERS CHILD BENEFIT
Nashville, TN August 9, 2012 -  On Tuesday, September 18th, Zanies Comedy Club is holding a charity event with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting A Soldiers Child, which helps give children, who have lost their father or mother in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan, a meaningful birthday gift.

The philanthropic evening will treat attendees to an evening of comedy and music performances  as well as give them a chance to bid on some exclusive auction items including signed guitars, dining vouchers for renowned Nashville restaurants, and more.   Hosted by Blue Collar comedian Reno Collier, the event is sure to entertain those who attend.  Collier, a Murfreesboro resident has had a bevy of success appearing on Comedy Central, hosting NBC’s “Great American Road Trip, and playing comedy clubs across the country.    “When A Soldiers Child asked me to help out, I didn’t give it a second thought” says Collier.  “This is a great organization with a fantastic mission. I’m proud to be a part of it ” Other performers for the evening include comedy Killer Beaz, XOXO, and Leanne Morgan.

Daryl Mackin, the executive director of A Soldiers child and Murfreesboro resident had this to say about the charity “Last year at this time we were celebrating the birthdays of 200 children. We now have well over 600 children of fallen soldier's in 43 states.  We could not do it without the folks who love freedom and support the families that defend it.

ABOUT RENO COLLIER:
A former P.E. teacher, West Virginia native Reno Collier has endeared himself to a wide range of audiences from college students to church softball teams. With a contagious laugh and friendly, almost intoxicating demeanor, Reno's observations often find him recalling mishaps of his West Virginia cousins, his Scottish heritage, unruly in-laws and alien abductions.

Reno's journey began at the Punchline Comedy Club in Atlanta, GA where he tended bar to supplement his day job. One night he found himself on stage during the weekly open mic night. His unique outlook on life - mixed with a six-pack - was instantly popular and provided a platform to launch a career as a comedian.

Reno has built a reputation by selling out comedy clubs and colleges nationwide. In 2004 he joined Larry The Cable Guy on the hugely successful "2004 Tour of America".

Reno's other national tours look more like a comedian's wish list than a resume, including theater and arena tours with the legendary Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Ron White. In January 2007, he re-joined Larry The Cable Guy for his wildly successful arena tour currently spanning the United States and Canada.

Reno's past TV credits include NBC's "Late Friday", "Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher", "The Martin Short Show", VH-1's "The List", and Comedy Central's "Premium Blend".

In 2005 and 2006, Reno headlined the "Comics on Duty" tour for American troops stationed in Iraq. He is a regular fixture on the Bob & Tom syndicated radio show and Country Music Television (CMT), hosting various specials for the network. He has performed at the prestigious HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, CO and the Montreal Comedy Festival, and in 2005, taped his own "Comedy Central Presents" half-hour special. He can currently be heard during his weekly call-ins to the Blue Collar Comedy Channel on Sirius Satellite Radio.

ABOUT KILLER BEAZ:
"SAVE UP" for the Best "BUZZ" in Town!
Zanies Comedy Club is affectionately known as the house that Killer Beaz built. Throughout the year's Killer has been Zanies' most popular act. Come see why Entertainment Today say's Killer Beaz is "the top live comedy act today". DON'T MISS KILLER HOTTER THAN EVER!!!

Twenty-five years of stage, television and radio and touring throughout the country, Killer Beaz - with his trademark "Save Up!" refrain- has become a familiar, beloved performer to millions of comedy fans nationwide. Born Truett S Beasley, Jr., Killer Beaz delivers edgy, high-energy "everyman"- style humor that appeals to a wide audience, selling out venues from Anchorage, Alaska to Miami, Florida.

With over a hundred national television appearances, Beaz is a familiar face of comedy. Several nationally syndicated radio shows allow Beaz to entertain millions of his fans on a regular basis, through phone calls as well as in studio appearances. Beaz has a lengthy list of radio stations that request him to call in his "Beaz Reports", keeping him very in touch with the fan-base he has and continues to build. Working with stations ranging from Alternative to Country, Beaz has something for everyone. Killer Beaz strives to be funny, without the need to be offensive. A gifted story teller, with tons of punch-lines, his shows are fast paced and fun! Beaz's quick wit and mastery of the ad-lib ensure that at his shows, anything can happen. It's easy to see that Beaz is in love with his art form.

"SAVE UP!", his new release, is available now at www.killerbeaz.com, currently embracing the opportunities that technology has provided to both the Artist and consumer, the CD moved to retail nation-wide Oct. 21, 2003. In addition to the "Killer" stand up performance, the project includes two musical tracks. "Henpecked Hero", the first release to radio was co-written by Killer Beaz and country music artist, David Lee Murphy (Dust on the Bottle/Party Crowd). Rock and Roll icon, Ed King (Lynyrd Skynyrd) contributed the guitar parts, and the legendary Jimmy Hall (Wet Willie/Prisoners of Love) handled the lead vocals and harp duties. Needless to say, these tracks are "Smokin"!

SHAKEN NOT STIRRED, his first comedy project, distributed through the Compendia Distribution Group, is available at retail locations nation-wide. "We're thrilled to have a talented performer like Killer Beaz," said Walt Wilson, vice president/general manager of the Compendia Label. "Beaz has a huge fan-base nation-wide, so making his album readily available at retail was the next right step."

Truett S Beasley, Jr., ("Thanks, Dad!") got his start in show business playing blues guitar in Jackson, Mississippi. "Beaz, as his friends call him, played lead guitar. One night, while playing a solo, someone shouted. "That was killer, Beaz!" The name stuck. So, naturally, when he made the jump to comedy, he carried the name with him. And what a jump it was! Using intense desire and a belief that it was "meant to be" as a springboard, Beaz started out at the best place possible ... the bottom!

Biker bars, pool halls, country music places, and blues rooms all make up a string of one night stands throughout the Delta, he fondly called "The Chitlin Circuit". During his 317 performances in these trenches, Beaz's "killer" stage presence was quite obvious. In 1984, Beaz traveled to Chicago on a business trip. Upon his arrival he heard about ZANIES Comedy Showplace, he skipped his meeting that evening and headed to check it out. Jay Leno was the headlining act that evening, and the first comedian Beaz had ever seen perform live. While Leno's performance was awesome, Beaz was equally thrilled to discover that there were places that people came for the sole purpose of seeing stand-up comedy.

He left that evening with a renewed sense of direction. A few years later, he once again walked through the door of ZANIES Comedy Showplace, only this time, Beaz was the headlining act. He developed a great relationship with the people of ZANIES. Through the years, Beaz has the most stage time of any comedian on the ZANIES Nashville stage, so much so, that when they promote his shows there, they refer to ZANIES Nashville as "The House That Beaz Built!"

Beaz calls the show, "The feel good show of the season!" Maybe that is why Rolling Stone Magazine says of the show, "Beaz is 'Killer'!" or why USA Today says he is a "Star rising in the South". With the release of the Killer Beaz album, "Save Up!", and an upcoming video release in the Fall of 2004, Beaz continues to use his successful formula of high energy with universal appeal as one of the nations top comics touring theatres and large clubs throughout the country. "Save Up!" Find out more about this "King of Comedy!" as he is hailed by the Clarion-Ledger at www.killerbeaz.com, and don't miss an opportunity to catch "The Best Buzz in Town"...you'll be stung for life!!!

ABOUT LEANNE MORGAN:
One of the many great things about stand up comedy is the widely varied circumstances that lead people to jump on stage for the first time to tell jokes to entertain. The where, when, and how is often as intriguing as the comedy itself. For many it comes later in life after leading successful careers as teachers, lawyers, or corporate executives. What is more rarely seen is for a mother of three, living in rural Appalachia, who grew up on a farm within a truly extended family to find her way to the stage of stand up. Leanne's journey into comedy is far from the standard profile but so intertwined into her act and success that it would be hard to imagine her starting any other way.

As a stay at home mother of three, Leanne was looking for a way to get some grown up time without interfering with her children or her husband's career. She turned to selling jewelry at in home parties. Word of her wonderful sense of humor and intoxicating southern charm spread like wildfire and she was staying booked months in advance. She was so popular that local civic organizations would ask her to host and emcee various events. From here she was asked to entertain several local corporate events and a professional comedy career was born.

A move to Texas with her husband's career opened many new opportunities for Leanne. While in San Antonio she was asked to appear in the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and appeared on ABC's The View in a hilarious housewife segment.

Leanne's style of comedy combines her southern charm and hilarious story telling about her own life into an act that keeps them coming back for more. People are always accusing her of spying on them because she seems to be living the same life that they do. The fact that everyone can relate to her comedy has made her a hit even among the strangest of audiences. After returning to Knoxville, Leanne appeared as a finalist on Nick at Nite's Funniest Mom and toured three years with the Southern Fried Chicks. She has appeared in comedy clubs, performing arts centers, and theatres all over the United States. She is currently under contract with Warner Brothers and ABC to develop a sitcom based on her comedy.
