PRESS RELEASE A SOLDIERS CHILD BENEFIT
Nashville, TN August 9, 2012 - On Tuesday, September 18th, Zanies Comedy Club is holding a charity event with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting A Soldiers Child, which helps give children, who have lost their father or mother in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan, a meaningful birthday gift.
The philanthropic evening will treat attendees to an evening of comedy and music performances as well as give them a chance to bid on some exclusive auction items including signed guitars, dining vouchers for renowned Nashville restaurants, and more. Hosted by Blue Collar comedian Reno Collier, the event is sure to entertain those who attend. Collier, a Murfreesboro resident has had a bevy of success appearing on Comedy Central, hosting NBC’s “Great American Road Trip, and playing comedy clubs across the country. “When A Soldiers Child asked me to help out, I didn’t give it a second thought” says Collier. “This is a great organization with a fantastic mission. I’m proud to be a part of it ” Other performers for the evening include comedy Killer Beaz, XOXO, and Leanne Morgan.
Daryl Mackin, the executive director of A Soldiers child and Murfreesboro resident had this to say about the charity “Last year at this time we were celebrating the birthdays of 200 children. We now have well over 600 children of fallen soldier's in 43 states. We could not do it without the folks who love freedom and support the families that defend it.”
